Parish Council Meeting Minutes – Tuesday 22nd October 2024

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2024

A discussion took place with regards to the speeding through the village and the possibility of a solar speed camera.  More slow signs through the village were also requested,

Grange Lane being a bus route, speed bumps were not a possibility.

A police presence was requested to check for speeding.

The Chairman responded that these matters had previously been discussed with CDC and the responses were reported to Mr Hoffermanns.

Potholes were reported on Old Village Street.

  • Minutes of the meeting held on 17th September 2024

RESOLVED that the minutes be signed. 

  • Matters arising from the minutes.
  • Repairs to the War memorial & Notice board are waiting to be completed.
  • Fly tipping is reported regularly.  Councillor Grimes does a regular litter pick on areas of the village and reports any large fly tipping. Councillor Slack does the same for The Abbe’s Walk
  • Christmas Tree – Councillor Grimes has ordered the Tree and awaiting delivery.  Funding from the Poor’s Land charity would pay for the Tree
  • Christmas Lights – Councillor Slack reported on no better solution than the current solar panel lights.
  • Christmas Lunch was agreed for 12th December.  Councillor Slack reported the cost was estimated at £30 per person. The event will be advertised in the November issue of the church magazine.
  • Yellow Lines near the junction with the War Memorial have been requested.  To contact Doncaster Council again.
  • A Street sign was requested on the cul-de-sac ‘The Abbes Close’ To contact Doncaster Council again.
  • Advertising has been in the Church magazine for the British Legion remembrance service at 1pm in the Church on 10th November. 

A wreath has been given from the parish Council. 

  • Potholes were reported on Scorcher Hills Lane.  Half have been filled in the others are to be reported again.

Bank Statement & accounts reconciliation circulated.

RESOLVED that the accounts be approved, cheques and bank statement signed.

Children’s sized litter pickers have been ordered.


Woodland Trust are sending 105 trees again that we haven’t ordered!

The Next community engagement meeting is to be held on 25th November at Sprotbrough commencing at 6pm.
