A good number of villagers said the daffodils lining the verges through the village gave a welcome splash of colour as they drove or walked through the village.
Responding to this feedback the parish decided to plant some more. Yes these daffodils are actually painstakingly hand planted rather than the result of an alien invasion or self-generation that allows them to multiply in astonishingly straight lines.
An army of volunteers were requested but owing to a world shortage of dibbers or the false assumption that helping in the village was taxable, no one turned up, leaving the parish councillors, who are volunteers in their own right, to plant next year’s bulbs for us all to enjoy.
