After a splendid turn out the Great Britain Spring Clean “litterpickin” volunteers managed to wave the flag – or at least pick one up. The project has now ended, but regrettably the tossers remain and will dump with abandon. Brenda our organiser said:-
Hi, just to keep you all updated on how we did on our litter pick events. We received a mention in the despatch from the DMBC along with their thanks. Well done everyone and please pass on this thanks from DMBC to anyone else who helped us – as I do not have an e-mail address for everyone.
Message from Anita Johnson of the DMBC:-
Now the GBSC has come to a close I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all of you for taking the time to take part in the 2022 campaign. Every bag of litter removed from the environment makes a huge difference – to the environment, to your communities and to the wildlife that makes our great outdoors their home.
As today is Earth Day and the theme for 2022 is invest in our planet, I ask you all to be proud of your achievements, be proud of your contribution to this.
I have attached the 2022 newsletter which shows some of the fantastic work that you have done during the campaign, and I know that many of you continue your fantastic work throughout the year.
Take care everyone, and I look forward to catching up with you again for the next GBSC in 2023.
Kind regards
Anita
